Broken Hill & Environs

During the past couple of days we have been making the most of our stay at "The Convent", the property of the Churches of Christ, to experience the unique history and creativity of this city and nearby places. Not only have we been impacted by the size of BHP Billiton but also by  the many artists who make a contribution to the culture. Amongst other things,we have visited the mosaic garden, the late  Pro Hart's gallery and also spent time visiting the art gallery of his youngest daughter, Julie, who we found to be, like her father, a Christian. Late yesterday we took in the Living Sculptures at sunset after a fascinating day spent at Silverton and today we travelled to Menindie and its lakes taking in the heritage trail and spending a special time beside the Darling River. Tomorrow before continuing our journey we will attend Sunday morning worship with our hosts. God willing, within the next 24 hours we will be more than one quarter of the way to Perth!

  1. A torrid pace! So glad you're having such an interesting time. You'll be able to relive some of those experiences as you are on the road.
    Love,

    1. It hasn't seemed like a torrid pace since we travel at around 85-90 kph and savour what we see along the way.
